Years ago, SNRE used to host an annual "Paul Bunyan Ball." The details of this ball have been lost to time amid rumors that 1970s feminists protested the name and that devoted SNREds protested naming the ball after a logger. Either way, the SNRE traditional dance died long before I was born. This year, three of my friends decided that grad school was not quite enough fun and really needed a dance party reinstated. To avoid troubles of the past, students voted on the name of the dance (Sustain-a-Ball won). And, congrats to the organizers--all 200 tickets were sold out, the Dean bought several and kept requesting more, and the party was a huge hit with delicious appetizers and hip-hopping DJ.
