In case you're curious, this is what keeps me busy at work: Long-Delayed Rulings on Endangered Species are Coming
Looks like we'll be busy through at least 2018! (And longer if the inevitable lawsuits keep Fish and Wildlife revising their designations.)
Anyway, time to actually get to work. Happy Thursday from a very snowy Boston. :(

Saturday
My sleep schedule has been really off for a long time. I think it first happened during my four-month busy stretch when I would regularly work on my computer until after 11:00 just to try to catch up. All that screen time meant I had trouble falling asleep until after midnight, and then I'd roll out of bed around 8 in the morning, show up at work around 9, and run on adrenaline until midnight again.
When things finally slowed down, I never did get back into the habit of falling asleep before 11:30. I've still been fighting with my alarm clock, which goes off at 7:35. I usually fall back asleep, roll out of bed around 8, rush to get to work around 9, and get really sad when I realize that means I can't leave until after 6, assuming I don't take a lunch break. In my dream world, I'd be a morning person who would get to work at 8, leave at 5:30, and be able to walk home before dark.
This late-night sleep schedule also means that I've been sleeping until 9:30 on weekends, which hasn't happened since before I started working almost two years ago! At first this was nice. I was proud of myself for catching up on much-needed sleep. Then it became weird--what happened to me?? I longed to get back to my old schedule of waking up at 8:30 on weekends and getting things done (or not, but I could decide that for myself!) with my mornings.
That brings us to today, Saturday. I woke up at 7:15, but it felt like 9. I looked at the clock, and - shocked - told myself to go back to bed for an hour. I dozed for what felt like forever. Then I couldn't stand it anymore and crawled out of bed... at 7:50.
Now why can't I wake up naturally that early on weekdays??
