While in Philadelphia this weekend, as we watched reports of Hurricane Sandy making a beeline for the Eastern seaboard, Rebecca pointed out:
"We've spent countless summers in south Georgia and Florida, and we've only had to deal with one tropical storm. Now that we live in the Northeast, hurricanes have become an annual thing."
Ridiculous, but true. Anyway, I am hunkered down with plenty of water and batteries, and right now I am just enjoying my day off work. I grew up with snow days galore, but this is my first ever hurricane day! (Last year's hurricane came on a Sunday.) The wind is starting to pick up and public transit is shutting down in an hour and a half, so we'll see how it goes.
Go away, Sandy! May your only lasting legacy be my joy over getting to sleep in this morning.
