The Aftermath!

Well, there is A LOT of snow in Boston. It's hard to tell exactly how much because of all the drifts, but estimates I've seen suggested that my area got between 26 and 28 inches. The drifts are easily 3 feet tall, and mountains of snow line the roads where plows (and backhoes!) have been working. Roads remained closed to traffic yesterday, but by this morning everything was pretty much back to normal. I was very impressed with how well the storm was handled, from Friday's traffic ban to the plows running up and down the roads all night.

The worst part of the storm was that my boiler broke again. After about 20 hours with no heat, it was down to 48 degrees in my bedroom! We spent yesterday buried under blankets with hot tea--thankfully we had both power and hot water the whole time. That didn't stop us from going outside to play, though! Here are a few snapshots.
